Insurance Brokers Code of Practice

Since 1982, the National Insurance Brokers Association of Australia (NIBA) has been a driving force for change in the Australian insurance broking industry.

As the voice for insurance brokers in Australia and the body responsible for maintaining integrity within the industry, NIBA has developed the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice. All NIBA members are bound by the terms of the Code and other parties or entities can subscribe to the Code standards.

The code is overseen by the Code Compliance Committee.  You can view the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice Committee Deed and Charter here.  This Deed sets out the obligation of NIBA, the Code Administrator and the Code Compliance Committee in relation to the Code.

If you consider there has been a breach of the Code, you may wish to contact the AFCA to lodge a complaint.
